S.P.E.C.T.E.R.S. Base Principles

1st Principle

1st Principle

1st Principle

In this field of investigation, there are entities that are not meant to be on this Plane of Existence. If these entities make it to this side, our plane of existence, they can cause a lot of problems.

These entities are always invited, we believe that they have to be, either directly, or indirectly. Through an invitation (spirit boards or provoking) or through personal weakness (physical or mental)

Close out your sessions when you are done … let whatever you were in contact with know that you appreciate their participation, but they are NOT allowed to stay, and they are not allowed to follow you from that place.

2nd Principle

1st Principle

The planes are crossed at a variety of levels some manifest just enough to activate lights on equipment. Others can coalesce the energy to move objects and make physical contact. Psychic mediums have the ability to look at these planes and make contact or be contacted by entities on the other side. Not all psychic mediums see at the same level

… some have 10/20 vision, some have 20/20 vision, and others are gifted with 20/10 vision.

3rd Principle

jjWe feel this is the case for entities that a classified too quickly as demons; that they are nothing more than nasty spirits that were just as nasty in real life. They may also be an elemental or another type of being yet to be identified or classified. There are also cases of mental health issues and their effects on a person’s behavior or perception of reality.

3rd Principle

As much talk as there is over the scientific method for the collection of evidence, we want to be clear that there needs to be a certain level of faith to do this work as well.

When we say faith we are not speaking strictly of religion. Faith is more than religion; it is that which makes believing possible. A Christian upbringing will have a heaven/hell, demon/angel perspective. A pagan will take more elemental/vibrational energy, past life/reincarnation perspective.

5th Principle

An investigation will not always yield evidence. The entire reason that the scientific method does not apply to paranormal investigating is that spirits do not always cooperate.

When this happens, it happens; do not develop evidence anxiety and feel a need to manufacture something or push questionable evidence as good evidence.

A location may need to be investigated several times in order to gather the evidence needed to authenticate a haunting or debunk a location as something else.

6th Principle

5th Principle

5th Principle

While investigations are serious undertakings and should be approached in a professional manner … you should not get so deep into the rabbit hole that you lose perspective or a sense of humor. When you start taking situations or yourself too seriously is when things get complicated, personal, and unfocused on the big picture.

Being professional and being serious is not the same thing. You can almost never be too professional while you can easily become too serious and find yourself on a destructive path.
